Department of Surface and Plasma Science

Study in our Department

The Department is responsible for an education in following parts of the Physics program:

• Bachelor (Bc) study of fundamental physics oriented to the plasma physics or surface physics.
• Linked master (MSc.) study of the "Physics of Surfaces and Ionized Media" (in Czech only) study branch, which is divided into two directions - Physics of Surfaces and Interfaces, and Physics of Plasmas and Ionized Media.
• Doctoral (Ph.D) study in following branches:
  • f-2 / Physics of Plasmas and Ionized Media - (homepage)
  • f-5 / Surface and Interface Physics
  • f-11 / Mathematical and Computer Modeling
  • f-13 / Physics of Nanostructures

Our goal is to educate experts on modern experimental techniques. The experts will be able to use computers for data collection and processing as well as for modeling of basic physical or technological processes. It allows our Bc. or MSc. graduates to find jobs not only in an education process and in a science but in a "common life" as banks or industrial enterprises. Ph.D graduates usually continue their research work it universities and scientific institutes in our country or abroad.
