Anotace:
Nowadays, hydrogen is considered a key element in decarbonising the economy. One of the biggest obstacles to widespread technology adoption is the high price of catalysts employed, typically based on platinum group metals (PGM). A new approach to technology development implies using the basic pH, where the activity of the oxygen reduction/evolution reaction is significantly improved, and many cheap yet active catalysts are available. In the frame of this work, we will focus on the development and characterization of low-PGM/PGM-free catalysts for hydrogen oxidation and oxygen reduction reactions in the alkaline medium. The final stage of the work will include the development and testing of the alkaline fuel cells based on this catalyst.
